How can I modify/cancel my reservation?

Please use your confirmation # on our modify | cancel section to make the necessary changes.

Can I reserve a car on the same day I wish to pick it up?

Yes, if there is availability you can reserve cars online at up to 4h prior to the pickup time. For last minute reservations we advise you to call us at 809-687-0505 or 809-549-9504.

Can I get a car rental quote online without actually booking?

Yes, you can check prices and availability online without needing to book a vehicle. Do not proceed to STEP 4

How can I know that my reservation has been finalized (the system did not ask me for my credit card)?

All online reservations are valid even without a credit card number. During high seasons, AmeriRent will contact all its clients 2-5 days prior to scheduled pick up and ask for a credit card number to secure their reservation.

Can I add or remove options from my reservation once I have confirmed it?

Yes you can change any option by using our modify section to make the necessary changes.

Can I add to my reservation a baby seat or a GPS?

Yes, you can add these additional services in step 3 of the reservation.

Can I change the dates of my reservation?

Yes, you can modify any detail of your reservation before the pickup date, even the duration of the rental. Please note that any modification in the dates or time of the rental may change your rate.

Can I cancel my reservation after I have confirmed it?

Yes, you can cancel at any time prior to your arrival time

How do I arrange for shuttle pickup from the Airport?

For locations Las Americas Airport, Punta Cana and Puerto Plata our counters are in terminal, therefore no shuttle is needed. You walk to the car.

Can I transfer my reservation to another car rental location?

Yes, if the other location has availability, however please note that changing the pickup location may change your rate.

Can I extend my rental agreement?

Yes, you may extend your contract by contacting one of our customer service specialists.

Can I add an option after my contract has been opened?

Yes, you may extend your contract by contacting one of our customer service specialists.

What if the rental vehicle breaks down or is involved in an accident?

You have to call roadside assistance (the number will be provided). They will assist you on the spot if possible. Otherwise they will tow the vehicle to the closest dealership. It's also important that you callAmeriRentand inform us of the issue.

What if the rental car is towed following a breakdown?

Depending on the nature of the breakdown and the coverage you select at time of your rental we will do everything we can to assist you. Learn more about trip interruption packages we offer such as Practical Assistance Package (PAP).

What is a daily rate?

Our rates are based on a 24-hour car rental period with a one-day minimum charge even if the vehicle is returned before the 24 hours. If the car is not returned on time as per the return time & day of the contract the following applies:
1. The first hour is grace
2. Only if reserving at, second hour is grace
3. If later than 2 hours, a full day rate will be charged
4. Please note: charges for all optional items such as CDW (Collision Damage Waiver) are charged at the full day rate for each partial day
